Who is this child?!

It's safe to say the first couple months with Brooklyn have been a little challenging. She really disliked being put down and hated being left alone. However, the last couple days she has been a brand new baby! I couldn't help but snap a million pictures of her playing by herself and even sitting by herself! Let's hope this is a turning point and she will be a perfect little girl for her babysitters! ;)

Stoppin' for pictures!

She is mesmerized by the TV lights and sounds

So strong!!

Ready to take off and crawl ;)

All that hard work called for some snuggles

 Morning pictures for Daddy!

She has been so fun lately - so smiley and interested in everything around her! Watching her grow just gets better and better :)

Two Months

Time just keeps flying by and Brooklyn is growing and growing! At her two month appointment she was 10 lbs 10 oz (30%), 24 in (97%!) although she was wiggling around like crazy when the nurse was trying to measure her, and 15.75 in head (92%). Month two was full of crying, but it was also her first smiles!

We finally gave in a took Brooklyn to the doctor after days and days of crying, and learned that she has reflux. She never spits up, so I never even though of reflux, but apparently instead of spitting up, she swallows it all back down. So the poor girl feels the burning in her throat as it tries to come back up and as she swallows it back down. It's only been a few days on her medicine, but we think it might be working. We will see after a few weeks or so!

We also had a small scare with her hips. At her 4 day old appointment her doctor thought she might have hip dysplasia, and then at her two month appointment he said she needed to get an ultra sound done on her hips. We were thinking best case scenario would be home therapy and worst case would be a few months in braces. So we took her to Cook's Children to get the ultra sound done and not long after they called and said she looked completely fine! Thank goodness!

At two months Brooklyn:
  • LOVES her pacifier. She will suck on it all day long.
  • She eats between 3-4 ounces every 3 hours or so. We are working on getting her to 4 ounces but she's just not quite there yet.
  • Bath time isn't QUITE as traumatic, but she still isn't a huge fan.
  • She doesn't mind her diaper being changed so much anymore.
  • Does such a good job holding her head up. She also loves to stand up and is getting so strong.
  • Has recently discovered her hands and loves to look at them and put them in her mouth.
  • She loves to be held all day long.
  • She likes to always be moving. She will be completely fine in the car and as soon as we hit a stop light she will start crying!
  • She likes loud places. Usually the more chaos, the better she is!
  • And last, but not least, she sleeps through the night! *knock on wood* She has always been a great sleeper, but lately she will go down around 10pm and sleep until 7:30am at which time she will eat and go right back to sleep until 10:30-11. It's been great!
Here are a few pictures of our sweet girl.

This picture cracks me up because I know it happens to every person who takes these pictures!

"This crib ain't big enough for the both of us!"

Checking out the fire with Daddy
Baby Selfie! Ha!

This face cracks me up!!

She loves to touch and "hold" her bottle

This picture makes me laugh for two reasons. 1 - she loves to sit up like that but her neck just gets so tired sometimes! and 2 - this girl gets some crazy bed head!!

This look kills me. She is so sweet!!

Best picture I've gotten so far of her cute smile! (Hello double chin!)

She just can't handle being burped when it's bed time!

Watching football!

Lastly, say a quick prayer for me as I go back to work in a couple weeks. I do enjoy my job and am ready to start contributing again, but not being with Brooke all day is already making me so sad! Thankfully she will be in such good hands and spoiled all day long, but I will sure miss her!!!
