We just recently returned from our big family vacation and
we had so much FUN!! My amazing parents took all of us (14 people!!) on a
Disney Cruise! It was a trip of a lifetime and I am so grateful for the
experience. The kids all had so much fun, and I loved to watch their reactions
to everything going on.
The kids all did great at the airport and on the airplane,
except for the HILARIOUS fact that Cole slapped a TSA security agent on the
butt!!! He’s lucky he’s so cute; he can get away with anything! Here is Adam's ride through the airport!
Ready to go!!
We got to Orlando and loaded up in a huge van equipped with
a trailer for all our luggage! We stayed at a hotel near the beach the first
night and the kids LOVED it!
The next morning we woke up ready to board the ship. I
always forget how HUGE cruise ships actually are! As you will see, the kids were just a little excited the morning of the cruise!
The Disney Dream was so nice
and each family was announced and applauded for by the crew members as we
walked on to the boat. It was really neat! First things first, we explored the
Kids Club! It was a fun area for the parents to escape from the kids (and kids
escape from the parents)! They had everything in there, and if the kids ever
wanted to leave, all they had to do was tell someone and a phone call would be
made to the parents. Disney thinks of everything!
A big thing on Disney cruises is for people to decorate
their doors. We had Disney characters prepared for just that! It turned out
really cute. We also all wrote mom & dad thank you notes for this amazing
trip and surprised them with these all over their door!
After our short safety briefing, we geared up for the big
Sail Away party.
Most of the time on the boat was spent by the pool. They
even had a nice adult pool to get away to. There was no way you could get in to
the kids pools. That was their territory!
On the same level of the pool was self-serve ice cream. The
girls definitely took advantage of this!! It was rare that I would see them
without an ice cream cone in their hand.
and the ice cream!
Each night for dinner, we would rotate to a new restaurant,
but always had the same wait crew. They were so nice! Adam is in a phase of
calling any foods that he will eat “num nums”, so our waiter nick named the
little guy Num Num and would be so excited to see him every night. He would
even cut up his chicken strips for him! Lucky little dude! They were also very
insightful about interesting crew facts. They have all kinds of stuff on the
crew level of the boat and will have crew parties on some nights! (Hello $.80
beers!)
Magic Tricks!
After dinner there was always a Disney production style
show. They were so good! The first night was Villains’ (a show for all the
Disney villains’), then The Golden Mickey’s (an award show that recaps Disney’s
history), and my favorite, Believe (about a guy who just needed to find a little
more spirit).
Everything about the trip was so much fun!! There is still so much more to share!
My favorite night on the boat was PIRATE NIGHT! - But that
will have to be for my next post!
