The House!... again.

Things are really starting to take shape at the house! I wanted to get a few pictures posted before the painters came and REALLY turned it into a home :)

First Anniversary

Collin and I just celebrated our first anniversary! It has been one heck of a year with that man. We have been so blessed this past year and we are looking forward to all the years ahead! 

We went to Morton's Steakhouse in uptown Dallas. They surprised us with this special one year anniversary menu!

Unfortunately the picture with the weird shadow on Collin's face is the only one we got all night! But he still looks so handsome :) I love you, Collin! Here's to MANY more years!

Great Wolf Lodge

A few weeks ago, Collin's parents completely spoiled the whole family with a fun weekend at Great Wolf Lodge! We had such a good time and even sneaked in a Ranger's game! We sat in the "all you can eat" section which is really the only way to go with large groups. We had a great weekend!

Looking like a House!

Our house is our baby right now, so bare with me through all these pictures and updates :) It will be fun to look back and remember the crazy ups and downs of building our first home! As of now, things seem to be moving along pretty quick with one big thing happening after another! But as we have learned in the past, we know there can be weeks with no progress at all. We are crossing our fingers that the frustration is behind us, and our house will be done before we know it!

Within just a few days it seems like, they have completely framed it, put up the sheathing (the white stuff around the outside), put in windows, and installed our tub in the guest bathroom! Looks like roofing will be next!

 And here he is contemplating the water in our tub already. He's convinced it's a bathroom for the workers... needless to say, I will be scrubbing the heck out of it once we move in! Gross!

 Dylan keeps me updated on progress when Collin and I can't make it out there for a few days! :) - Okay, maybe it's Justin and Brennon.. but Dylan has already claimed a room in the new house!

And here is our house! Windows and all :) It's so exciting to see all the progress! Each step will be more and more exciting from this point on. Can't WAIT to move in!!

2nd Place!

How cute are these girls?! I am coaching Cameron's 3rd grade volleyball team this season and could not have been more proud of them this weekend! After having a pretty rough season last year, they came out on fire for their first pre-season tournament claiming 2nd place! I have high hopes for this season. We played a pretty good team in the championship, and I am anxiously waiting to play them again! Our girls played back to back to back to back before the championship and were a little exhausted. With a little rest, I have no doubt we can beat that team!

 

 Cameron played so well! And she sure looked cute! :)

Also, we finally have a foundation poured! This home building experience has not been what I expected so far, but I am certain we will love the end result! We've been told that the house will be complete mid to end November. We are counting down the days!

And a SPECIAL Happy Birthday to this cute 3 year old!! He is the happiest little boy and always goofing off in effort to make someone smile! I love his little personality!

Getting Closer

We are getting closer to having our foundation poured! I feel like once this gets done, the rest will fly by! Hopefully that's not just wishful thinking...

We found a "pre-pour inspection" checklist when we were out there yesterday, and it looks like the inspection failed in a couple places.. so hopefully that will get resolved and we will have a foundation by the end of the week!

...and on a side note. This was Collin's dinner last night. And yes, he did eat it all!

Vegas & a LITTLE house progress

Collin and I got back from a little Vegas vacation last weekend! We had such a good time but whew.. that city can wear. you. out! I don't have many pictures at all :( mainly because the casinos are pretty strict about phones & if we weren't at the casino then we were sitting by the pool! 

 We stayed at Planet Hollywood! Such a nice hotel and casino, but the rooms were SO noisy all throughout the night!! I guess that's Vegas for ya though.

 Collin found a Big Buck Hunter slot machine.. you can imagine how happy that made him!

 "Is this the real Caesars Palace? Did Caesar actually live here?" ha! That poor hotel must get that ALL the time now!

I could watch this water show over and over.

He's pretty good lookin' if I do say so myself! ;)

I can FINALLY show a little update on the house!! It's been quite a while, but the permits finally went through and we have some plumbing! Hopefully the foundation will be SOON to follow!
