Brooklyn Sue Gillaspie

Brooklyn is here! She is so precious and we are completely obsessed with her! Please be prepared for complete picture overload!

We checked into the hospital at 8pm Thursday evening to begin the induction process. I was already contracting every 4 minutes and didn't even know it! At 7am the next morning, the doctor broke my water and after that it was a LONG waiting game. I progressed so slowly.. about a centimeter per hour. We have such an awesome family and everyone waited around at the hospital ALL day waiting to meet Miss Brooklyn!

The boys checkin' in on Brooke's heart monitor :)

Finally, at 9:57pm the doctor came in and informed us it was time to start pushing. We did a practice push and he quickly told me to stop as he put on his scrubs and the nurses hurried to get the room ready for delivery. One push later, Brooklyn made her arrival on November 14, 2014 at 10:10pm, weighing 7lbs and 7oz, 21 inches! It was such an amazing experience seeing her for the first time. She was so alert and calm just taking everything in. She is such a blessing and we are completely smitten with her! It seems as though she changes every time I look at her, which would explain why I mostly spend my days just staring at her. She is a little miracle and our hearts are forever changed.

Cole is upset here because he wasn't the one holding Brooke!

..and now he is happy as can be! Sweet big cousins :)

Her little outfit to come home in. It completely swallowed her!! Ha!

Proud dad!

This was just a couple hours after Brooke arrived. We were waiting to move to our new room and these two were exhausted after a long day!

We are so blessed. This little girl is so loved.

Brooklyn's Nursery

I wanted to share a few pictures of Brooklyn's nursery before it most likely turns into a tornado of a mess :) We had so much fun putting it together. Thank goodness for our talented painters, Justin and Brennon!
Brooklyn will be here any day now and we are excited to meet her! Of course we have all kinds of fears and anxiety, but excited nonetheless!

36 Weeks

(Please ignore the extremely fake smile!! At this point it's more like "just take the dang picture!")

How far along: 36 Weeks!

Baby Size: A honeydew {17.2-18.7 inches, 4.2-5.8 lb} – This is according to The Bump. At my 35 week appointment, it was estimated she weighed around 6lbs!

Maternity clothes: Yep

Sleep: Not so good lately. As soon as my head hits the pillow I am wide awake.

Gender: Girl!

Movement: Yep! She likes to stretch out which makes my belly look pretty deformed sometimes.

Looking forward to: Being on maternity leave!

Food cravings: Orange juice every morning.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach :(

Symptoms: Feet swelling! I think my belly is doubling in size everyday, too. I’ve had it pretty easy for the most part, so I can’t complain too much!

Belly Button in or out? Still even and super sensitive.

Wedding rings on or off? Off this week
:(

Mood: A little bit of everything. Panicking at the thought of being responsible for another life, worried we are going to forget something at the hospital, wondering what this recovery process is going to be like, but still excited for it all to come.

Best moment this week: Celebrating Collin’s birthday on Friday! Next year it will be homemade birthday cards and finger smudges on his birthday cake from a little girl that just HAD to taste the frosting! Can’t wait for what all is to come!

Baby Showers!

Collin and I have been blessed with THREE baby showers for little Brooklyn! Needless to say, she is all set and we can't wait for her to be here!! As soon as I get pictures from my Spearman shower, I will post those. It was hosted by such nice ladies and was a great time!
Here are some pictures from my Fort Worth shower that my family put together and it could not have been more perfect! Everyone worked so hard on it and put in so much time towards it. It turned out beautiful! I loved that everyone brought children's books in lieu of cards. Little girls library is all set now!

These next pictures are so sweet. Everyone filled out a "Wishes for Brooklyn" card and Cameron, Dylan, Savannah, and Maddie's were so cute :) Love those little girls!

And I can't wait to get Brooklyn in these little shoes that were on top of the diaper cake :)

A couple weeks after the Fort Worth shower, my work had a double baby shower for a co-worker and I that are due around the same time. The theme was "It's a sea of babies around here" and everything was "under the sea"! Too cute!

I can't get this one to rotate :/

We are so blessed to be surrounded by such great people who love us and little B! The countdown is on for her arrival now!
